Foreign workers suffer greatly in Saudi Arabia. Some go unpaid. Some are beaten or even raped. Satineh Ahmed a 41 year old Indonesian domestic worker in Saudia Arabia is to be executed for striking and killing her employer when defending herself. Many foreign workers in Saudi Arabia are suffered by their employers. In a few days Satinah Ahmed is to be executed. Saudi Arabia is the 4th highest executor in the world and almost half of them are foreign nationals. Prageeth Eknaligoda, a Sri Lankan journalist and political analyst, went missing on January 24, 2010, shortly after leaving work at the Lanka-e-News office in Homagama, near the capital Colombo. Since 2006, at least 14 media workers have been killed in Sri Lanka, with no one held accountable for these murders. Ragihar Manoharan was one of five Sri Lankan Tamil students killed by security forces in January 2006 in the city of Trincomalee. Authorities have failed to prosecute anyone for their murder. His case is emblematic of the thousands of people subjected to human rights violations and war crimes in Sri Lanka by government forces or their paramilitary agents. A 2006 commission of inquiry examined the murder of the five students but its report has never been made public. Don’t Let Rapists Escape Prosecution in Mozambique Deadline: ASAP preferably by April 30, 2014

Can you imagine if a rapist could avoid being charged for his crime by marrying the woman who survived his attack?  This month, lawmakers in Mozambique will debate revisions to the Criminal Code that would allow a rapist to escape punishment – by marrying the woman he attacked. Amina Filali was just 16 years old when she was forced to marry a man whom she said had raped her. In 2012, Amina lost all hope and swallowed rat poison and died shortly afterward. Click here for more information and on-line action!
