Happy Rebirth Dearest Farkhondeh - Please Share this Poem

We encourage you to share this poem written just days ago. The sadness, the frustration, the outrage, the inspiration can be felt with each line. Thank you, Majid, for sharing your poem with us. Her murder and her life will not be forgotten. As you have said in your poem, "Freedom fighters never die."  #JusticeForFarkhunda

Happy Rebirth Dearest Farkhondeh

I searched the most beautiful flower to name after you,
What a useless search,
You are the most beautiful flower.
I searched a flower that blooms all year round,
What a useless search,
Your name is a message that blooms for eternity,
Even in fall and winters of humanity.
I searched for a word to describe your courage
What a useless search,
Your name is the most courageous name.

I searched the tallest mountain to scream your name

What a useless search,
You are the tallest mountain.
I screamed your name from the top of my lungs
What a useless act,
Your silence is the loudest voice.

They killed your earthly body to silence you,

What a useless act,

Your message got eternal life.

They killed you to rest in peace,

What a useless act,

You are resting in peace,
And your enemies have no peace.

Your blood isn’t shed in vain

It irrigated the seedling of the freedom,

Not only in Afghanistan but around the world.

Your innocent life isn’t wasted,

Your spirit was the badly needed IV for the cancerous body of humanity,
Humanity is richer because of you,
Jesus was crucified, his message lived forever,
Your message will live too.
They torched your lifeless body to extinguish the fire of freedom and justice,
What a useless act,
Your chard bones carried on the shoulders of Afghan lionesses
Sparked a fire hotter and brighter than the sun.

I wanted to cry for your tragic death,

What a useless act,

Freedom fighters never die.
