Amnesty International USA: Tell Shell to Clean Up Oil Devastation in Nigeria - INFO & ACTION (Nov 3 thru Nov 15, 2015)

We urge you to take action to support the movement for environmental human rights in the Niger Delta on this special anniversary.
November 10, 2015 marked the 20th anniversary of the execution of nine Nigerian activists, including Ken Saro-Wiwa, who led a global campaign for environmental human rights against the Shell oil company and the Nigerian military dictatorship. Their imprisonment, trial and execution triggered international condemnation and protests.
Amnesty International was a part of this movement and continues to support a new generation of activists to honor this legacy by ensuring a clean future for the Niger Delta. On November 3, Amnesty International and the Center for Environment, Human Rights and Development released a report on Shell’s actions and inaction in commemoration of Ken Saro-Wiwa's fight for environmental justice: https://amnesty.box.com/s/mitwnl0c9djp2yfafj5456h2wgsqau5w
Despite repeated calls to clean up its spills, including an extensive study by the United Nations in 2011, Shell's attempts at remediation have been half-hearted, leaving the water and soil of the Delta toxic.
You can help #makethefuture of the Niger Delta brighter by calling on Royal Dutch Shell to clean up the pollution caused by its oil operations in the Niger Delta by posting the following messages on social media between November 3 and November 15 (and especially on November 10).
With you in Human Rights,
