Following the death of Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah, U.S. Members of
Congress must urge his successor to stand up for human rights. A draft
letter from Congress urges the successor, King Salman, to free
prisoners of conscience like Raif Badawi (in left image) and Waleed Abu
al-Khair. The letter also urges the new King to address other pressing
human rights concerns including women's rights, torture, and freedoms of
religion, association, and expression.
It is critical that both Democrat and Republican Members of Congress put
human rights at the center of the United States relationship with Saudi
Arabia. Urge your U.S. Representative to sign the letter so human
rights will no longer be on the "back burner" of U.S. foreign policy.
