The refugee crisis in Europe continues to dominate the news and our
hearts. Amnesty International has several initiatives to aid in this

fast-moving story and many countries have now responded to the many
online petitions beseeching them to give these refugees aid but much
more help is needed. Thank you to many of our members who have signed
petitions and who have expressed their concern for the many people who
have had to leave their homes.
We'd also like to thank Angie Hougas, one of our Amnesty International
Madison Group #139 members, for sending us information earlier this week
regarding Amnesty International's policy regarding sex workers. We have posted some
general information about Amnesty International, its mission, values,
organizational chart, and some links about Amnesty International's
policy, Human Rights for Sex Workers, on our website. We originally posted
this new policy on August 12, 2015. Much public as well as internal
organizational controversy has been generated since the announcement of
this policy. Also note that this Fall's Amnesty International 2015
Priority is My Body My Rights which is a global campaign to help ensure that everyone
has access to their sexual and reproductive rights and to stop
