Omid Kokabee (1982) is an Iranian PhD
student in physics jailed since February 2011 in Iran for conspiring.
Last May he was condemned to 10 years for communication with a hostile
government and illegal earning.
Omid has not been presented proofs nor
has been allowed to talk with his lawyer, and he has denied the charges.
He and his friends say he is not a political activist nor a scientist
involved in nuclear research. Omid Kokabee deserves a fair trial to
allow him to defend his innocence. Iranian students and scientists need
legal security and academic freedom to develop their potential without
fear.
