Dear Supporter,
This
is an invitation to participate in the next step in the process of
developing Amnesty’s upcoming global priority campaign on Human Rights
Defenders (HRDs). AIUSA has embraced the HRD campaign as a priority for
our section in the four-year-strategic plan that the board adopted this
spring following extensive consultation.
Here’s how to participate in this phase of the consultation:
- Read the attached Problem Analysis drafted by the International Secretariat (IS).
- By August 17, email me (zjohnson@aiusa.org) your feedback on the document, answering the following questions:
(1) Do the issues/concerns/problems outlined in the problem analysis resonate with you?
(2) Has the IS missed any concerns or are some of the concerns “wrong”?
(3)
Given that the HRD campaign won’t be able to solve every problem in the
Problem Analysis, which problem(s) should the campaign focus on and
why?
(4) Are there particular problems facing HRDs in the USA that you believe AIUSA should address and, if so, why?
