Greetings Everyone!
This week, two stories dominated the news; stories filled with tragedy
and hope. Nepal was devastated by an earthquake that killed over 6,000
people, left thousands homeless, and countless others injured and yet
two people were found alive five days later and many families have been
reunited. Baltimore was rocked by the death of another black man in
police custody. Anger swelled. Some reacted with looting and
destruction. However, over 10,000 demonstrated peacefully, showing their
frustration with the mystery surrounding the death of Freddie Gray, and
many from the community helped to clean up the mess. Tragedy and hope.
We must continue to be vigilant with our work for human rights. We see the injustice. We feel the pain. We share the tears. Let's continue to work, to demonstrate, to write, to inform, to act, and be that hope.
