Amnesty International - Australia"In April a 10-year-old girl arrived with her mother at the Trinidad Maternity and Children’s Hospital in Asunción, the capital of Paraguay, complaining of stomach ache. On examination, it was discovered that she was 21 weeks pregnant - a result of being raped by her stepfather. While the girl is in a stable condition, her health is in danger if this pregnancy progresses.
This girl’s mother has requested that she is given access to a safe abortion. Please write to the authorities in Paraguay to demand that this request is granted."
