AI Madison Group #139 Weekly Update - March 6, 2015

Greetings Everyone!
We dream of freedom for women around the world. We dream of freedom for political prisoners who risk everything for their beliefs. We dream of freedom for generations to come. This update highlights just some of the news stories and actions that our Amnesty International Madison Group #139 posted this week and some of the individual efforts of some of our members who worked to make those dreams come true.
This year over 1,000 events worldwide were planned for International Women's Day (March 8th). Azam, our AI Madison Group #139 group leader, has been busy "Making it Happen" in Madison. Local events include(d): Madison, WI: 2015 International Women's Day Event - March 8, 2015, the Wisconsin Women's Network,
"Women on Topic" Brown Bag: International Women's Day "Make It Happen!," and the Intern'l Women's Day Presentation at Nolen Shore.
News from Iran includes photos sent to us from Mr. Osanlou, one of our AI Madison Group #139 members. Iran Demonstrations: Photos from Mr. Osanlou, on of our AI-139 members! - February 2015. It was a pleasure to meet Mr. Osanlou when he spoke in Madison and to learn about his efforts. Sadly, we also share ONLINE PETITIONS, URGENT ACTIONS, NEWS ITEMS, and VIDEOS for Iran. Please write today!
As a human rights activist, a grandmother, and a former public school teacher (and administrator), I would like to share with you "Dreams of Freedom"
which is a beautifully written and illustrated book for children ages 6 and up. Published in association with Amnesty International, "Dreams of Freedom," along with "We are All Born Free" (The Universal Declaration of Human Rights in pictures) will inspire our children and our children's children.
Continue to make those dreams come true,
