United Nations
It's almost World Humanitarian Day and we want to invite you to celebrate with us on 19 August at UN Headquarters. The global World Humanitarian Day event will run from 6:30 to 9 PM in the General Assembly featuring special guest stars from the Game of Thrones and Hamilton the Musical.
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Natalie Dormer, Leslie Odom, Jr., Alisan Porter, and Mohammed Assaf will join with a family of Syrian refugees to call attention to the needs of 130 million people caught in crisis around the world.
This World Humanitarian Day comes as the situation in Aleppo grows even more dire — with innocent civilians cut off from food, water, and medical supplies. To generate support for the people of Aleppo, Hala Kamil, a Syrian refugee whose family was featured in Marcel Mettelseifen’s documentary Children of Syria, will address the audience and close the ceremony with her message for humanity.
We want you there to pledge your support for humanitarian crises. Don't miss this amazing event in the General Assembly.
To attend, you must RSVP by the 16 August at this link: http://bit.ly/whdtek
