Thankfully, police shootings in the UK are a very rare occurrence, but in the USA the headline is all-too-familiar: 'civilian killed by police – circumstances questionable'. From Michael Brown in Ferguson to Philando Castile in Falcon Heights, the victims are likely to be black men.
No US state has police lethal force laws that comply with human rights. We need to ask President Obama to change that before he leaves office.
