For over five years, Syrian authorities have been imprisoning
people in a network of secret torture prisons around the country.
These brutal prisons are specifically designed to break inmates
beyond repair and punish them for speaking out against the Syrian government. Prisoners
are routinely subjected to shocking torture, beatings, rape and starvation. More
than 17,000 people have died in custody as a result of the inhumane conditions,
and thousands more will follow unless we demand an end to the horror that goes
on inside those walls.
Join our call on the
Syrian government to allow independent monitors access to the prisons to
investigate the conditions now.
