We celebrate our successes and we mourn our losses. Sadly today we have learned that Reyhaneh Jabbari has been hanged by the Iranian government. Many of us who signed petitions, worked hard to initiate a retrial, tried to replace her assigned lawyer, and sought justice are saddened. by this news and are moved to work even harder for the people of Iran.
"The shocking news that Reyhaneh Jabbari has been executed is deeply disappointing in the extreme. This is another bloody stain on Iran’s human rights record,” said Hassiba Hadj Sahraoui, Amnesty International’s Deputy Director for the Middle East and North Africa Programme."
