The execution was postponed at the last minute and Reyhaneh received a temporary reprieve, possibly due to public outcry as Reyhaneh’s story went global. Now 26-years-old, Reyhaneh has been in prison for seven years. At just 19, she was charged with murder after stabbing a man she says was trying to rape her. Reyhaneh admits to stabbing the man once, but maintains a third person was involved in his killing. This claim, which could clear Reyhaneh’s name, has never been properly investigated.
