Greetings Everyone!
"The
shooting in San Bernardino, Calif., was the 355th mass shooting in the
U.S. this year — or more than one per day on average so far in 2015"
according to National Public Radio. Click here for the article. Amnesty International often focuses on the atrocities committed around the world and has also
observed the Global Week of Action Against Gun Violence, along with
fellow NGOs in the International Action Network on Small Arms. See "How We Can Stop Gun Violence and Save Lives"
by Steven Hawkins for these links and more information. There are many
petitions and calls for action related to gun violence and gun control.
Our hearts go out to the many victims of the mass shootings that
dominate our lives.
International Human Rights Day
is just right around the corner (December 10). Help us celebrate by
signing petitions for this year's Write for Rights. This campaign
officially begins today, December 4, and continues to December 18. We have included two more cases in this week's update. Check out our Write for Rights tab for more information about each case, petitions, and address information.
Have a wonderful week!
