Ahmad Fardan
had his three-month prison sentence upheld on 3 February by the Court
of Appeals in Manama, the capital of Bahrain. He was sentenced on 17
February 2015 for “attempting to participate in a public gathering” in
connection with a demonstration on 16 December 2013 in Abu Saiba’
village, west of Manama, which he had intended to cover as a
photographer. The appeals court also ordered that all his electronic
devices be confiscated including his computer, camera and camera lenses.
He has been transferred from court to Jaw prison, south-eastern Bahrain
to serve his prison sentence. He is a prisoner of conscience.
