AI Madison Group #139 Weekly Update - May 13, 2016

 Greetings Everyone!
Our Amnesty International Madison Group #139 was chartered in 1978. Since that time we have actively worked for human rights by adopting specific cases, participating in the Regional Action Network & Country Campaign work, sponsoring radio ads, participating in various community outreach projects including rallies and guest lecturers, and promoting various human rights issues. We began our social media campaign in May of 2013 when we started our website. That effort grew to include Facebook and Twitter. On May 8, 2014, we distributed our first Weekly Update to our members.
Our goal for our Weekly Update has been to provide our membership with timely human rights information and actions. Our Weekly Update lists the many posts submitted to us by our Amnesty International Group #139 members during the week. Your submissions are reviewed and posted on our website, Facebook, and Twitter pages. To date, almost 2,000 posts have been placed on our website and almost 45,000 pages have been viewed. If you have suggestions for our website posts or Weekly Update, please send them to Azam at azamnrad@gmail.com.
Our group has seen many changes but remains as passionate and committed to human rights as it was in 1978. I personally have learned so much about the world and the human spirit during my involvement with our group. I value the opportunity to take action and thank YOU for your submissions. Together we continue to "change the world."
We would also like to remind everyone to plan ahead and #WearOrange on June 2!
