"Stateless people are people who legally do not exist. People like Ramona Rellis Feliste (pictured left) who has five children, none of whom were registered at birth because she was denied identity documents.
Stateless people have difficulty accessing healthcare, and education. They can’t travel and are forced into informal jobs. Women are at increased risk of violence or other abuse, and have little to no opportunity to secure justice in court.
The lives of all those who remain stateless are in limbo."
