Last night I listened to the AI-USA campaign for abolishing Death
Penalty in US. I learned that only 18 States have abolished death
penalty (see below) with NE being questionable due to its present
republican governor who wants to change it.
Of note is that
none of the so-called liberal western states (CA, OR, WA) have abolished
capital punishment. The AI-USA campaign is to help abolish death
penalty state-by-state and eventually pursue Supreme Court to outlaw it
altogether.
Wisconsin was the FIRST State to abolish death penalty in 1853 with an interesting story as how this happened. Click here for this very interesting story.
