Gil Naveh, head of communications and media unit at Amnesty International Israel added: “there is no justification for the killing of innocent civilians and we share the pain & sorrow of the people who were hurt and their families. We hope that the public discussion in Israel and in the Israeli media will remain reasonable and professional, and will not deteriorate to violence, dehumanization and demagogy. We hope the Israeli media will mention that collective punishment of civilians is illegal, both by national and by the international law. We hope that all sides involved will avoid further violence and be able to protect their citizens and condemns the violence”
