AI Madison Group #139 Weekly Update - April 8, 2016

Greetings Everyone!
Well, Spring Break is over and we have so much work ahead of us. Here is just a sample of the many actions, news items, and events from this week. (1) Please consider either signing this online email or writing your own letter to Urge President Obama to Visit Hiroshima. This post includes a sample letter from one of our members,
Dr. Farideh Kioumehr Dadsetan. (2)  Amnesty International (including our AI Madison Group) has been campaigning on behalf of the prisoners (Raif Badawi and Ali Nimr) who are being shown in this PBS Frontline documentary film, "Saudi Arabia Uncovered." (3) If you are in the Madison area on April 16, don't miss the screening of this video, "Merci Congo" organized by the Amnesty International UW Student Group, the Enough Project, and Intel. Click here for details. Finally, this is just the tip of the iceberg. We have many more ONLINE PETITIONS, URGENT ACTIONS, HUMAN RIGHTS NEWS, VIDEOS/PODCASTS, and EVENTS in this Weekly Update. Thanks again, to our contributors who keep us all informed and to you, our members, who are taking action on behalf of human rights. (Photo from Amnesty International Canada.)
