Tibetan woman, Dolma Tso, is serving a three-year sentence for moving the body of her neighbour who set himself on fire in protest against the unrelenting oppression of Tibetans by Chinese authorities.
Authorities have isolated Dolma from her family and lawyer since November 2014.
On two occasions, prison staff asked Dolma’s family for consent to perform a medical operation on her. Prior to that, Dolma had sent a letter which stated that she had no health problems, but was scared about her safety and asked that no one sign any consent documents on her behalf.
