With little independent oversight kids all across Australia are vulnerable to brutality.Every effort must be made to ensure detention is a last resort for children and they’re given support to rehabilitate. Instead of subjecting kids to brutal mistreatment, we must give them every chance to rejoin their families and communities and help end the over-representation of Indigenous kids in detention."
