GOOD NEWS
Iran: Omid Kokabee
granted parole with ability to leave the country, 29 August 2016.  Omid was a graduate student at the University of TX - Austin back in 2012.

Iran:  Bahareh Hedayat, women and student rights activist, who had been in prison in relation to her human rights and women's rights activities since December 2009, has been officially released on Furlough on 1 Sept 2016, from prison after serving 6.5 years. Amin Ahmadian (her husband), has confirmed the news in a post in his Instagram account.
Egypt:  Dr Taher Mokhtar, Hossameldine Hammad and Ahmed Mohamed Hassan were released on bail on 11 August, after spending seven months in detention facing baseless charges.
Indonesia:  Haris Azhar,announced 11 August, Indonesian police suspended their investigation into a defamation complaint against human rights activist Haris Azhar. An investigation is currently underway into his allegations linking security and law enforcement officials to drug-trafficking.  
Egypt:  Human rights defender Malek Adly has been released on 28 August after he spent 115 days in detention. The court did not set bail as a condition of his release but required him to specify a place of residence as he faces an ongoing criminal investigation.

Drawing on many years of Amnesty International’s work to promote all human rights and to oppose violations of those rights, it is intended to provide arguments, suggestions and practical tips for advocacy that activists can use to strengthen and broaden their work against the death penalty.
