"Spring Cleaning" Event
When: Saturday, April 18th at 10:30amWhere: Meet out front of the Memorial Union at 10:30amWe will split into groups of two or more so that each group can have a garbage bag for trash and another for cans and bottles. Gloves and bags will be provided. We will regroup at Memorial Union at 3pm to drop off the garbage and then gather at the terrace for ice cream! Contact Angellica Stanley with any questions.

GENOCIDE
When: Wednesday, April 22, 2015, 3:00pmWhere: TITUIn honor of April’s Genocide Awareness Month, Amnesty International-UW Madison presents the German documentary film AGHET: A Genocide. The 2010 film was directed by Eric Fiedler and depicts the annihilation of 1.5 million Armenians from 1915-1923 and critically discusses international denial of the mass killings.April 24 will mark the 100th anniversary of genocide against the Armenians.The screening will be followed by open dialogue and discussion facilitated by University of Wisconsin-Madison Political Science Professor Scott Straus.
An Evening with Mohammad Jibran Nasir: Tolerance, Co-existence, and Countering Extremism in Pakistan

Mohammad Jibran Nasir is a lawyer, political and human rights activist, and blogger. He was featured by Foreign Policy Magazine in 2013 as one of three Pakistanis doing notable work against sectarian violence. He Co-founded Pehla Qadam and Hum Qadam, two social and relief outreach programs that have provided food relief to over 6000 Internally Displaced People and flood affected families in Pakistan. Jibran also co-launched Pakistan for All which advocates against hate speech, violation of human rights and media censorship. Jibran is a regular writer on Express Tribune and Dawn.com.Since the Peshawar APS attack in December 2014, Jibran has been leading the citizen's movement against terrorism, organizing and running two campaigns, #ReclaimYourMosques and #NeverForgetPK, in an effort to put pressure on the Government to start a crack down on banned militant outfits.For his talk, Jibran will be sharing details of his activism against religious intolerance and sectarian violence. He will be highlighting and emphasizing the role of state and non-state actors in spreading religious intolerance and extremism within Pakistan.
