Iran: Atena Farghadani, an artist, was forced into a virginity test for a handshake with her lawyer - ONLINE PETITION

Amnesty International New Zealand
She learnt that the Iranian government were introducing a new Bill which would restrict womens’ access to birth control. In protest, Atena turned to her art and drew a cartoon which criticised the government.
All she did was exercise her right to freedom of expression - something you and I would do freely here in New Zealand - but Atena is now facing 12 years in prison. Targeted for her peaceful activism, Atena was prosecuted for ‘spreading propaganda against the system.’
