"Our hearts go out to every person touched by the attacks in Beirut and Paris this past week. No person should have to live in fear of violence.Amnesty is working to help people who are faced with the threat of violence every day and who are fleeing such violence - like many Syrian refugees are. Last September, there was global outcry in response to the heartbreaking photo of drowned three-year-old Aylan Kurdi. But since the outcry, there has been too little action to help refugees fleeing Syrian government bombs, attacks by the armed group that calls itself Islamic State, and other grave risks. At least one out of every three Syrians are now living in desperate or uncertain conditions."
